Transport

Although Ripple Parish, in common with many rural areas, is not well served by public transport, there are many ways of getting around the area without the use of a car. With a bit of forward planning, and a combination of bus services, community transport and local taxi services, most domestic and leisure journeys can be accomplished. Using Upton as a hub there are regular routes to Worcester, Malvern, Tewkesbury, and Gloucester, and there are many concessions for senior citizens. Bus Services

The Parish is served by three main routes:

Upton Community Care

This is an excellent volunteer supported community transport service, and is well used. For residents who do not drive, or who do not have access to a car, they offer pre booked transport for doctor, the surgery, dentist, physiotherapy, chiropodist and hospital appointments, and also collecting prescriptions and visiting friends and relatives in hospital. Cars can be booked 09.30 to 11.00am Monday to Friday on 01684 593633. Outside these hours an answerphone message can be left. The charge is 15p per mile with a minimum of £1.

The Upton Shuttle

This is a free community bus service supported by WCC, the Countryside Agency and Upton Town Council. It runs on Fridays only. This brings passengers from Ryall, Holly Green, and also by prior arrangement from Ripple, into Upton and then home again later. For a Ripple pick up call Simon Wilkinson on 01684 592894 by noon on Thursday for the following day. Also call this number if you need a wheelchair to be carried.
